My art career began in the late 1980's painting mostly still life and landscapes in watercolor. A decade later, I transitioned to oil and soon after won my first award with a portrait of my next door neighbor, Miss Lena.

While I loved to draw and paint from practically the moment I was born, I initially earned a BSBA from Ashland University in Ohio. I later studied at Maryland Institute College of Art and in the studio of David Zuccarini. I really credit my time in David's studio (though short) for a leap in knowledge and skill.

In 1999, I moved to NYC and continued my studies at The Art Students League under Robert Neffson, Everett Raymond Kinstler and David Leffel -- I'm so grateful for my time with them! I have also feel privileged to have studied at Nelson Shanks' Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia.

My family and I moved from Manhattan to New Jersey, where I work from my home studio.
I regularly accept portrait commissions, provide private art instruction and have taught at the Somerset Art Association. I am always open to taking on new students.

My artwork has been represented internationally by such galleries as Howard Gallery of Fine Art in New Hope, PA, Sienna Visions Fine Art in Plainfield, NJ and the Nynas Konst & Hantverk in Nynashamn, Sweden. I am currently looking for new galleries.

I am a member of the Portrait Society of America, where I volunteer as the Delaware and New Jersey State Ambassador -- a volunteer position whose role is to promote the art of portraiture. I am also a member of the Oil Painters of America and The Somerset Art Association. My paintings are in private collections throughout the United States and Sweden.
